“At Netlight, we don’t come in and give advice, instead, we become an integral part of our clients’ teams.”
A Computer Science graduate, Jan Carsten has worked at startups and bigger companies in various industries. Drawn to Netlight’s exploration into new technologies, he started at the Hamburg office as a Software Developer, then moved to Berlin, thanks to the company’s transfer policy. After two years, he’s transitioned into a team lead role and now mentors new Netlighters as part of the company’s Mentorship Program, allowing him to further develop his leadership skills.
Jan usually works at his client’s office. His mornings begin with a stand-up meeting to walk through the day’s tasks and any blockers the team might be facing. Following lunch with the client’s team, the afternoons are occupied with either meetings (sprint planning or retrospectives) or coding. The best perk about working on-site is the insights he can get. On his latest project, Jan was able to directly interact with employees to get real user feedback that he could then implement while developing the product.
“Competence, Creativity, Business Sense are not just our core values but on a holistic level, it is something every Netlighter possesses”
