"What surprised me most about Axel Springer is how open, and hungry for change and innovation everybody is."
Though her work largely focuses on investment projects, the journalistic DNA and mission of Axel Springer appealed to Friederike. She strongly believes in the company’s ambition to serve investigative and quality journalism in the time of fake news, and its mission to provide transparent information to society. In addition, the more tangible benefits of working in a company with such a strong reputation and financials had attracted Friederike to join its investment team, as she is now involved in some of the world’s largest and most intriguing deals.
After studying Business Administration in Germany and Barcelona, Friederike interned in different Venture Capital firms across Europe before joining Axel Springer through its Trainee Program. Right from the start of her journey, she was accompanied by a dedicated Mentor. To experience the diversity of Axel Springer, she then rotated across different departments in the company to Corporate Controlling, Financial M&A and then to two companies. But the highlight of her traineeship was working together with the founders to build up the new APX Startup Accelerator. At the end of her traineeship, she returned to the Invest & Grow department as an Analyst and has been working on strategy and investment projects ever since.
"Axel Springer is the perfect place to work for anyone who is curious and wants to materialize real change in society."
